On the Workbench…
Today I only have a “Wave” keychain on my clipboard for Morgantown, WV. These are carved from a single block of wood. I offer these in 12 different hardwoods.
The USPS has been a burr under my butt these past few weeks. Their package tracking (or lack thereof) has caused a dozen or so clients to fret on their deliveries. I completely understand their concern, but feel frustrated as there is little I can do except raise the production time in my Etsy shop to delay delivery expectations. At this time of year I regularly carve and ship within 2 or 3 days, but USPS has been taking 10 to 12 days to deliver domestic packages, 50% of which do not get tracking updates. I blame Louis DeJoy’s “streamlining” initiative. Everything is getting there, though… eventually.
Otherwise, there is much to putter in our Florida yard. I am still cleaning out the goldfish pond, as the leaves have finally quit falling (I hope). A small retention wall needs building, with the pavers I acquired a couple weeks ago along with a “ring” around our driveway lamp post. Our eastern border needs an annual deforestation of invasive species before the growing season begins. The beds in front of our front porch need to be prepared for a few more azalea bushes when the daily rains start coming.
Much to do. One step in front of the other gets you there.
September rewards are hanging. 😋 Mangos are about plum size now.
Sneak Peeks
Thanks for checking in. Here’s a view of this week’s Etsy orders.
For customers, this should ease your mind that your order is quite important to me and being attended to, not sitting on a clipboard or in the to-do pile. Also, if your order is being sent as a gift to a recipient at another address, you get to see it before they do.
For subscribers, this will give you an idea of the physical things I create and ship worldwide. They keep me sane and help me find my peace.
Every order is carved individually by hand, in the order that they are received. Some weeks are busier than others. I usually carve and ship within 3 to 5 business days.
If you are enjoying what you see… I like it hot and black. 😉
