Today we have an order for a Walnut wood name keychain to say WENDY.

I have sped up the following video to save you time. I think that most artists learn visually, so I think this is the best way to teach my processes. But let me know if you have any suggestions.

Mine is a free-hand shop.

I rarely touch a ruler or tape measure. My sizes are approximate. For this work, they are relative to what you have on hand and how much waste you will create.

I work by eye, to within a 1/16th inch (+/-) margin. So, as a board dwindles from 5/4” to 3/4” to 1/2” to 3/8”, I set aside the off-cuts to be used elsewhere. I consider the waste of wood a sin.
